Later visit Dungtse Lhakhang Temple and walk around the beautiful houses and buildings of the town offering 360 degree views of opulent greenery.

Hike through enthralling pine forests, enjoying the magnificent sights of terraced fields and valleys, to access Zurig Dzong, a fortress-style monastery built in the 14th century. From here, walk downhill to reach Ta Dazong which houses Bhutan’s national Museum. Enjoy a wonderful tryst with Bhutanese art and culture while exploring the specimen of paintings, jewellery, artefacts and handicrafts. Later visit the nearby Rinpung Dzong, the religious centre of Paro.

After exploring the Ugyen Pelri Palace, traditional archery ground and colourful bazaars, drive to Kyichu Lhakhang (about 5 km. away), well-known for its miraculous orange trees. Drive further to explore the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong (further 11 km. away). Please note that the number of destinations covered depends on the time available.

Day 03 – Chele La Pass and Kila Nunnery

Drive to Bhutan’s highest mountain pass Chele La (about 37 km. from Paro) and surrender to the breathtaking views of Mount Jhomolhari and Haa Valley. The journey on road which winds through the dense covers of primula, blue pines and rhododendrons is truly magnetic. At the height of about 3,988 m., feel like having direct dialogue with the God.

Later descend to Kila Gompa Nunnery, the abode of more than 30 Buddhist nuns living here in peace. Offer prayers at the seven temples within the premises, which enjoy exclusive valley views while resting on a cliff side. Enjoy freewheel mountain bike ride while descending back to Paro valley. Please note that the trip to Chele La is dependent on clear weather, in the absence of which you will be taken for an alternative excursion.

Explore the top highlights like Trashi Chhoe Dzong, National Memorial Chorten and Kuensel Phodran hill which houses a 51.5 m. high bronze statue of Buddha. Visit the best museums and galleries like Zorig Chusum (offering courses in 13 arts and crafts including painting, carpentry, blacksmithing, embroidery, weaving and more), Royal Textile Museum and Folk heritage Museum.
